SUBWAY #1: Connecting People with Paper

SUBWAY is a new title, put together and designed by Erik van der Weijde in Rotterdam and published by 4478.
It's a strong mix of short editorials. A two page recollection of the 80's television series ALF, an introduction to Brazil, a recipe for an ace German Black Forest chocolate cake, the work of photographer Peter Sutherland accompanied by a three question interview and five quotes by Mikhail Kalashnikov.

Everything is short and to the point which makes Subway such a nice read. It gives you just enough and leaves you to go on. One of the best features in this first issue is an interview with poet Nikola Tosic after which three of his poems follow. His poem "Training for my Parent's Death" is really quite good.
