KOSOVO 2.0 about sex in the Balkan

Kosovo 2.0 is a magazine and media platform from Kosovo that aims to give a voice to the country's youth, which they see as silenced and disenfranchised. They want to change the media landscape and bring true stories from young people and make their voice matter. It is published in Albanian, English and Serbian.
The latest controversial issue is about sex and how people experience their heterosexuality and homosexuality in the Western Balkan. They launched this issue in december in a youth club in Pristina with readings from contributing writers. The magazine's staff received threads during the day from a group of extremist Muslim men. When the launch started the group came into the club and smashed televisions, monitors, projectors and DVD players. One editor got beaten up.
You can see what happened in this rough video below:

The magazine has guides for flirting with Balkan men and Balkan women, personal stories from gay people who experienced violent and negative reactions to their sexuality, prostitution, rape, sex in the cinema, transexualism, an article from an Albanian writer who looks back on a sex story he wrote in his youth and how he sees it now, female bloggers about being a woman in the Balkan and also very important: 10 tips to get laid in that area.

Kosovo 2.0 is special, daring and important. For only 6 euro's you get an interesting, harsh but often funny look in sexuality in the Balkan.

WE ARE HERE investigates Dubai

We Are Here comes from Dubai, it's a magazine that will pick a different city for each issue to explore it's underground, streetculture and other face. In this first Dubai issue, street art, poetry, short stories, background articles on for example third generation kids and being a DJ in Dubai.
The special thing about We Are Here is that all the photo's are made with an iPhone. This way it feels like you are traveling through the city in a contemporary way through the eyes of one of it's citizens.
Our friends at Magpile calls it one of 2012's ten best new magazines and gave it an honourable mention in their annual Magazine Awards:

A beautifully simple and deliberate magazine. It's lo-fi and yet it's completely modern—it fits into today's way of seeing the world. It feels utterly relevant. (Matt Willey)

New elegance for men

After 3 previous issues we are looking forward to each new issue of
THE HERITAGE POST and YES issue 4 came in this week. Although it sounds  a bit strange to the foreign ear, the subtitle of THP magazin fuer Herrenkultur  does cover the content of this characteristic journal. The editors are complaining  about the fashion mainstream taking over the rugged well dressed  look this winter..... but like they state themselves quality will survive any fashion trend or marketing trick. So 150 pages filled with demin from japan, rugged guys, handmade shoes, dogs that match and swiss army bikes.

CANDY: larger than life

This Magazine made/curated by Luis Vengas is much more then just a magazine; its so rich in content / print quality / and photography.

It's a style magazine in the true sense of the word, but it's also a tribute to diversity, all models cross the gender borders with passion and dedication, sometimes with ease & poise, often trashy and funny but always with dignity!

As the magazine editor Venegas states:"If we would have a mission statement: if you're going to take over the world, do it with an iron fist wrapped in a silk glove."

Although the magazine believes in art over politics; in this 5th issue you'll find a stunning array of spreads, promoting a CandyDate
for future presidential elections! A transgendered White House looks so close!

Here is for breaking down walls! Vote for CANDY magazine!
