Pirates and Kaurismäki in Little White Lies

Litte White Lies has a special about the new Aardman Animations movie Pirates! According to LWL, Aardman Animations is "the single most important voice in British animation today". There's an extended review on Pirates!, an interview with director Peter Lord and an article on the beginning of Aardman.
Also in this issue interviews with The Dardenne Brothers about their new film The Kid With a Bike and Paolo Sorrentino who worked with Sean Penn and David Byrne for his new movie This Must Be The Place.
Then there is a very funny interview with Aki Kaurismäki about his gorgeous movie Le Havre.
He talks about Jim Jarmusch, the year 2007 when you could still smoke everywhere and digital cinema, a "dead" medium to Kaurismäki. "It's not based on light. For me, cinema is based on light. If there's no light, there's no cinema".
