a magazine between Design and Art
We get used to things breaking down. But when we do not throw them away immediately, we can repair them. Hopefully they will work again, maybe with limitations or alterations, but they work! This new magazine deals with the principle of repair in design. It takes design hacking one step further! A repair set for a spider web; the sewing kit collection of avant-garde fashion designer Otto von Busch; plants that grow on finished manga pages ; in 80 pages without advertisements Professor Sven Voelker and his design students share their vision on design and repair.

Special offer for Sinterklaas!

special offer this beautiful penguin postcard box! A collection of 100 postcards, each featuring a different and iconic Penguin book jacket. From classics to crime, here are over seventy years of quintessentially British design in one box. In 1935 Allen Lane stood on a platform at Exeter railway station, looking for a good book for the journey to London. His disappointment at the poor range of paperbacks on offer led him to found Penguin Books. The quality paperback had arrived. Declaring that 'good design is no more expensive than bad', Lane was adamant that his Penguin paperbacks should cost no more than a packet of cigarettes, but that they should always look distinctive. Ever since then, from their original - now world-famous - look featuring three bold horizontal stripes, through many different stylish, inventive and iconic cover designs, Penguin's paperback jackets have been a constantly evolving part of Britain's culture. And whether they're for classics, crime, reference or prize-winning novels, they still follow Allen Lane's original design mantra. Sometimes, you definitely should judge a book by its cover. from€ 23,50 New price: €14.95

Keramiek in de etalage

Point of no return.

the heart of the matter

The new issue of Monokultur, #25, is about Dave Eggers. The author, the activist, the 'idea-machine'. The issue is designed with inspiration taken from McSweeney's; the short-story-bookazine that Eggers initiated. It's a long interview about writing, idealism, praise, inspiration, living in San Fransisco and being regarded as 'good'. The effects of his books are way beyond literary; he founded the Valentino Achak Deng foundation; for education in South Sudan. 'The real work is brick by brick'

I love you  #5
The Princess Issue

"I am a princess.
 All girls are.
Even If they live in tiny old attics.
Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young.
They're still princesses."
